Terms of service
This is an English translation for convenience. The Korean version is the official text and prevails in case of any difference. Read the Korean version.
Article 1 (Purpose)
These terms set out the conditions and procedures for using the chain hotel map, promotion and tier information and the member features provided by TierStay (the “Service”), and the rights and obligations of the Service and its members.
Article 2 (Effect of these terms)
These terms take effect when posted on the site. Articles 3, 7 and 9 apply to users who view information without signing in.
Article 3 (What the Service provides)
- The Service gathers publicly available information and shows hotel locations, chains, promotions and membership tier information free of charge.
- The information is collected and updated automatically based on official sources, and there may be timing gaps or errors in what is reflected. The Service does not guarantee accuracy or currency. Before booking or paying, check the official site of each chain.
- The Service is not affiliated with any hotel chain or card issuer and does not act as an intermediary for bookings or payments. Hotel, chain and card names and logos are trademarks of their respective companies.
Article 4 (Joining and leaving as a member)
- A person aged 14 or over becomes a member by signing in with a Google account and agreeing to these terms and to the collection and use of personal information.
- Members may leave at any time using ‘Delete account’ in the account menu. When a member leaves, their personal information is destroyed in accordance with the Privacy policy.
Article 5 (Member obligations and restrictions on use)
- Members must not use another person’s account, place an excessive load on the Service by automated means, or interfere with the operation of the Service.
- If a member breaches this, the Service may restrict that member’s use after giving prior notice (or afterwards in urgent cases). The member may raise an objection at help@tierstay.com.
Article 6 (Error reports and improvement requests)
- Members may send reports of data errors or suggestions for improvement. What they send is used only as a lead for checking against official sources, and the outcome of the check is recorded in ‘My reports’.
- Members permit the Service to use the reports they send for checking data and improving the Service. The content of reports is not published externally as-is.
- The number of reports that can be sent per day, and repeated submission of the same content, may be limited.
- Members must not send other people’s personal information, abusive language, advertising or content that infringes others’ rights, and such reports may not be processed.
Article 7 (Changes to and suspension of the Service)
The Service may change its content or be suspended when operationally necessary. Significant changes that are unfavourable to members, and a full suspension, will be announced on the site in advance.
Article 8 (Newsletter)
The newsletter is sent only to members who have given optional consent, and it can be turned off at any time from the account menu or with the unsubscribe link in the email.
Article 9 (Limitation of liability)
The Service is provided free of charge. Unless there is intent or gross negligence on the part of the Service, it is not liable for loss arising from bookings or decisions made in reliance on the information, or for loss arising from causes beyond the Service’s control, such as natural disasters or communication failures.
Article 10 (Notices)
The Service gives notices to all members by posting on the site, and notices to individual members by email to the member’s Google account email address.
Article 11 (Changes to these terms)
These terms may be changed to the extent that doing so does not violate the Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions or other relevant laws. Changes will be announced on the site 7 days before they take effect (30 days before for changes unfavourable to members). A member who does not agree to the changed terms may leave the Service.
Article 12 (Governing law and jurisdiction)
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes will be resolved in the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.
